A recent study shows that 1.7 million children
are unable to reach their fifth birthday due to easily preventable diseases
such as diarrhea and pneumonia. Most of these lives can be saved through simple
practices like handwashing with soap - one of the most effective and low cost
prevention for illnesses like diarrhea and pneumonia.
